Gros Morne Theatre Festival 2020 Postponed to 2021

March 25, 2020

Dear TNL Patron:

With the Newfoundland & Labrador’s Chief Medical Officer’s heart-rending, yet thoughtful decision not to allow festivals and events in the province this summer or fall, TNL’s wonderful 2020 Gros Morne Theatre Festival season along with the opening of our new Nurse Myra Bennett Centre for the Performing Arts is postponed until the summer of 2021.

As difficult as this cancellation will be on our company and the artists who work with us, it is imperative that the safety of our audiences, our artists and our communities be at the forefront of our minds. We are so proud to be Canadian and commend the way the federal and provincial levels of government continue to deal with this terrible pandemic.

At this stage we are still intent on producing the 2020 (25th anniversary) season next year. Of course, we don’t have a crystal ball so many things could change, but for now we are looking forward to bringing you our very special 25th anniversary season line up in 2021. And together we will experience theatre for the very first time in our brand new Nurse Myra Bennett Centre for the Performing Arts in Cow Head, Gros Morne National Park!

We cannot wait for you to Come Back to Newfoundland & Labrador in 2021 to See Our Stories and Hear Our Songs!

If you have purchased tickets for the 2020 season, you’ll soon receive a call or email from Katie or Natasha to process your refund.
Please watch our website in the coming months as we post our 2021 performance schedule.
As artists I encourage us all to be focused on being creative. Creativity is the source of all we do and not only in our art. I pray that our scientists continue to be creative as well as our politicians and the small business owners who will be fighting like us to survive. Through creativity comes new ideas and from new ideas we will find the future!

Stay Creative.
