TNL Monday Night Movies Cancelled

Theatre Newfoundland Labrador would like to advise the
public that its Monday Night Movies series will not be offered this year.

The board of directors of TNL made the decision to cancel Monday Night Movies due to the declining attendance of the past few years.  TNL began its Monday Night Movies series
as part of the Toronto International Film Festival Film Circuit in October,
2001.   Monday Night Movies was intended to be a fundraising activity for TNL's
professional live theatre programming, as well as a service to the Corner
Brook community.

In the past couple of years, however, the average audience has dropped significantly making it unfeasible and giving indication that the service was no longer needed in the city. An extensive survey of Monday Night Movies last fall showed a low level of interest in continuting.
