This beautiful play of mystery, intrigue and romance, based on the true story of young Marguerite de la Roque, a French noble woman who, along with her lover and aging attendant, was abandoned in the spring of 1542 on the so called Isle of Demons. Some believe that island to be on the Quebec north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence while others believe it is our very own Quirpon Island off the Northern Peninsula. Marguerite survived two years before being rescued and returned to France.
