A "time" from the Dictionary of Newfoundland English is defined as; "a party or celebration, esp. a communal gathering with entertainment." In Newfoundland a 'time' has always been of the utmost importance - when life is hard it's an escape from the day to day grind, when life is good it's a celebration of the glorious independence of spirit. In 2009, we are marking 60 years of confederation with Canada, so, come, sit back, have a few cups, clap your hands, tap your toes and revel in an evening of recitations and traditional Newfoundland music focusing on the Newfoundland and Canada partnership.
