A Sculpin Named Sam

A Sculpin Named Sam by Ben Pittman (Adapted from children's books Down by Jim Long's Stage and A Wonderful Fine Day for a Sculpin Named Sam by Al Pittman)

You are viewing a show from our Production History Archives.

Sculpin Named Sam  by Ben Pittman, expertly weaves together the storylines of Al Pittman’s “Down by Jim Long’s Stage” and “A Wonderful Fine Day For A Sculpin Named Sam”.

The play follows the story of Sam the Sculpin through the ocean as he desperately looks for a place to fit in. Sam might look a little different, and he might even act a little different, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a happy little sea creature like all the rest! When the rest of the sea creatures treat Sam like a second class fishitzen, he thinks all hope is lost, until he meets another fish who shows him that it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and with a little understanding we can all get along together.

This “ugly duckling” type story was grown right here in Newfoundland & Labrador  and we’re very proud to be bringing it to the Grenfell Theatre at Grenfell Campus! This show is appropriate for all ages.
