Stage Head Academy

July 30th – August 13th, 2017

Designed for students aged 16-18 years who may be considering a career in theatre, Stage Head Academy is a two week theatre intensive operating between Corner Brook and the beautiful community of Cow Head. In week one, students take workshops and classes in Corner Brook from Industry Professionals from both the Acting World, and the Technical Production World. In the Evenings, students rehearse their own production to be presented at the end of the program. During Week two, the group moves to Cow Head in beautiful Gros Morne. Students will take workshops from company members of the Gros Morne Theatre Festival in the mornings, Rehearse in the afternoons, and see everything the GMTF has to offer in the evenings. The program wraps with the students presenting their own production on the Gros Morne Theatre Festival.

Accommodations are the responsibility of the applicant, but in order to assist students who may need help with accommodations, we keep a list of Billets in both Corner Brook and Cow Head. Where possible we will pair the students with a billet in both locations if requested. A list of Accommodations in the area is available on request.

The cost of the program is $450 and includes Complimentary tickets to each of the Gros Morne Theatre Festival productions.

Applicants must be 16 years of age at the time of the intensive. Applicants are asked to fill out the application form, as well as include a short essay detailing current theatre experience, and a statement of what you hope to learn in the program. Application forms should be completed no later than June 1st. Preference will be given to early applicants.
