Theatre Newfoundland Labrador is holding auditions this coming weekend for its Community production of The Gift of the Magi..

Group auditions will be held Saturday and Sunday August 29 and 30 from 2 to 4 pm at TNL offices, located off Confederation Drive, between Western Kia and Cohen’s Furniture.

Singers and actors are required for this production. Interested actors & singers can attend either the Saturday or Sunday audition sessions. Those auditioning should wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes.

The Gift of the Magi, adapted by Jon Jory is a heartwarming romantic comedy, narrated by a group of Christmas carolers that tells the story of Della and Jim, who are desperately in love with each other but also very poor. In their attempts to buy each other proper Christmas gifts, a strange twist of fate leads the couple to find the perfect gifts for one another — but at an unexpected cost. Though they may not have the perfect Christmas, the couple learns about the importance of the gift of love in this beautiful adaptation of the story by O. Henry.

The production will feature a number of popular Christmas songs and carols and will be directed by Jeff Pitcher with Musical Direction by Allison Crowe and will perform December 3-6th at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre.
